Short meditation exercise

Sometimes it is really not easy to find the time and/or the motivation to sit down for meditation. Once we decide for it, we can often see beautiful effects. When we sit down and we try not to think about anything, there might be nothing more difficult than that. We want to just focus on our breath, but so often there are so many thoughts coming around. This is completely normal. But the moment we realize, that we had just another thought and we turn our attention back to our breath, is game changing. This is the moment you can discover that there is a higher instance than your thinking mind, that you are not your thoughts.

Try this: Find a comfortable seat with a straight back, on the floor or an a chair it doesn’t matter. Turn on the video. It is a ten minute video with a good music for meditation and you can use it as timer.

For the duration of the music close your eyes and bring the attention to your breath. Just observe. Whenever thoughts are coming, which means whenever you realize it, do not judge them or yourself. Just bring your attention gently back to your breath. Just ten minutes.
